There was a time when the restoration industry used terms such as "Black Water," "Grey Water," and "Clean Water" to differentiate water damage. The terms were change recently to Categories of damage between 1-3; one being clean water, two being somewhat contaminated water, and three being grossly contaminated. The change helped the industry determine where the water came from vs the color of the water. This home had a category 2 damage from a dishwasher and the carpet and pad needed to be removed. The contaminated water had saturated the porous materials leaving SERVPRO of Germantown/Collierville no choice but to dispose of them.
